A Fish Out of Water (and Into a Taco): My Deep Dive with Lucifer Lighting
So, here’s a little fact that caught me like a shiny hook: “Lucifer” actually means “light-bearer” in Latin. I know, right? I was expecting something a bit more… infernal. But no — this one’s all about illumination.
Turns out, the clever folks at Lucifer Lighting in San Antonio have taken that name to heart — bearing light from their factory to dazzling residential reefs and commercial currents all around the world.
Recently, a few land-loving lighting legends — Ryan Walker, LC, Bryan Klammer, and the bright minds at Visual Interest Inc. — invited me to tag along for a deep dive into Lucifer’s world. I thought we were going for a casual swim-through… but what we got was a full-on 400-level master class in downlight design and engineering precision. These fixtures? Sleek as a swordfish, smart as an octopus, and smooth as the perfect taco sauce drizzle.
When we finally came up for air, our fins led us all over San Antonio: drifting along the River Walk, flashing back at the Alamo, and nibbling on inspiration at The Pearl, Club Giraud, and the rooftop vibes at 1Watson. To top it off, we soaked in some artistic light at the McNay Art Museum — a private tour that shimmered brighter than a school of silverfish.
From factory floors to taco tours, this trip was one for the (fish) books. A huge wave of gratitude to Lucifer Lighting for bringing the brilliance — and letting this fish swim among lighting legends.
Until next tide, stay bright and stay crispy, my taco friends. 🐟🌮✨
